The Swarovski Jordan Valley Black Storks

FlywayThe Swarovski Jordan Valley Black Storks are the official Champions of the Flyway team of the Jordan Valley Birding Center.
Our bird watching center is located in Kfar Ruppin on the Great Rift Valley. The Valley is considered one of the most important migratory routes in the world and is recognised globally as a very important area for birds.
All of this makes our center unique and extremely important, for nature conservation, regional cooperation, and ecotourism.
The Jordan Valley Black Storks are very excited to contribute to the conservation of African Vultures that are in serious danger of extinction.
We hope to assist through creating awareness of the importance of nature conservation and aim to help by fundraising.

No less importantly, we will race with great vigor and high spirits and enjoy the birding – and hope to be of assistance to all the other teams! Good luck to all the teams, and especially the vultures… Druck

Meet the Team:

Tuvia & Renana Kahn

Tuvia and Renana lives in Kibutz Ein Harod, are married and have two beautiful children. Tuvia grew up living in the center of Israel. He started noticing the birds around him at a young age, and soon after started birding, and has never stopped since! Tuvia enjoys going out birding at any given opportunity, as a hobby as well as a profession. Today Tuvia is the leading Birdwatcher, guide and manager at the Jordan Valley Birding Center in Kfar Ruppin, Israel.

Renana has always been a “nature girl” throughout her relationship with Tuvia and she too has caught the birding bug.
It has been a long-time dream to join her husband in the Champions of the Flyway race – we hope to have a great birding adventure!

Rotem Agmon

Rotem is 54 years of age and has recently joined the birding community. As a member of Kibbutz Yizre’el near the Gilboa mountains, his local birding patches are the Harod and Beit Shean Valleys. He birds where and when he possibly can with other local birders in his community. Champions of the Flyway 2019 will be his first, and he eagerly awaits this challenge!

Tsvi Hertz

My name is Tsvi Hertz and I am 18 years old. I live in Maa’lot, which is in western Galilee. I’ve been watching birds since I was nine years old. My favorite places for birding are the Jordan Valley, the Hula Valley, the Negev and the Arava. My favorite activity is trips around the country, watching and photographing birds. I took part in the 2016 race and I am glad I can do it again this year.
